About Hecarim

Speed is the entire premise of Hecarim. His Warpath passive converts a percentage of bonus move speed directly into attack damage, so every speed boost he buys or receives makes him hit harder — an unusual scaling axis that shapes his itemization and his playstyle in the top lane. He blends a fighter’s damage (8 out of 10 attack) with tank-adjacent durability at a mid-range 6 out of 10 difficulty.

His sustained damage comes from Rampage, a cleave that grows stronger and cycles faster as long as he keeps hitting at least one enemy, rewarding players who stay glued to targets rather than dipping in and out. Spirit of Dread supports that all-in commitment: it grants armor and magic resist, damages nearby enemies, and heals Hecarim for a percentage of any damage those enemies suffer — from him or his teammates — making him surprisingly hard to burst once a brawl starts around him.

The charge pattern

Devastating Charge is his signature engage: he accelerates over a short duration, passes through units, and his next attack knocks the target back with bonus damage that scales with distance traveled. Combined with Onslaught of Shadows — a line charge with spectral riders that ends in a shockwave sending nearby enemies fleeing in terror — Hecarim can cross an entire fight, displace a carry, and scatter the response.

He appeals to players who love momentum: building speed, committing fully to engages, and snowballing skirmishes. The flip side is that a Hecarim who charges in without follow-up has few tools to disengage, so timing decides whether he is a wrecking ball or a sacrifice.
