Hunting from the undergrowth is Rengar’s entire identity as a champion. His passive, Unseen Predator, lets him leap at targets with his basic attack whenever he is in brush, which turns every patch of grass on the map into a threat radius. Casting abilities generates Ferocity, and at maximum Ferocity his next ability is empowered — so playing Rengar is about sequencing: build stacks quickly, then choose which empowered effect the situation demands.
Each basic ability has a Ferocity payoff. Savagery stabs for bonus damage, and empowered it hits harder and grants attack speed for dueling or shredding objectives. Battle Roar damages nearby enemies and heals for recent damage taken; empowered, it breaks crowd control. Bola Strike slows at range and roots when empowered, giving him the stickiness assassins need. The skill expression lies in banking Ferocity for the right empowered cast rather than spending it on cooldown.
Thrill of the Hunt is the signature ultimate: Rengar camouflages, gains move speed, and reveals the nearest enemy champion in a large radius, then leaps onto the tracked target. It creates a distinctive pressure — the enemy carry knows they are being hunted, sees nothing, and has to play around a leap they cannot easily anticipate.
Listed for mid and top, Rengar is a snowballing Assassin/Fighter for aggressive players who enjoy ambush setups, one-shot combos, and appearing where the enemy least wants him. His trade-off is commitment: he dives in fully, and if the burst fails he has few tools to leave.
