Used by 24 champions View RuneRunes are the pre-game customization system of League of Legends: before every match you lock in a rune page built from two of the five trees — Precision, Domination, Sorcery, Resolve and Inspiration. The primary tree grants a keystone plus three minor runes, and the secondary tree adds two more picks, letting every champion tailor damage, durability or utility to the matchup ahead.
Keystones are the heart of a page. They define how a champion wants to fight — Conqueror rewards extended brawls, Electrocute pays out on quick bursts, First Strike turns aggression into gold. The minor rows behind them fine-tune sustain, cooldowns, resources and survivability, so two pages with the same keystone can still play very differently.
Every rune in this codex is connected to real champion builds on VPEsports: rune pages show which champions actually run them in ranked play right now, with win rates and sample sizes from the same data behind our builds, items and tier list sections. When Riot adjusts a rune, our patch notes track the change, and the whole database refreshes automatically from Riot’s official Data Dragon — no invented numbers.
Runes are pre-game customizations that grant champions bonus effects during a match. Every player builds a rune page from a primary tree (one keystone plus three minor runes) and a secondary tree (two more picks).
Keystones are the most powerful runes and sit in the first slot of each tree. They define a page’s identity — burst, sustained damage, tankiness or utility — and champions are often balanced around them.
Rune facts come from Riot’s official Data Dragon (currently version 16.14.1); champion usage comes from real ranked build statistics. Nothing is invented.
Every rune page lists the champions that actually run it in current ranked builds, with win rates and sample sizes, linking straight to each champion’s build page.
Yes — Riot regularly tunes rune values and occasionally reworks whole rows. When a rune changes, its page links to the relevant patch notes.
