Few mid-lane mages offer the raw burst potential of Syndra, a mana-based artillery caster built around a single resource: Dark Spheres. Her Q conjures a sphere that deals magic damage and then remains on the ground, becoming ammunition for the rest of her kit. Everything Syndra does — poking, zoning, stunning, executing — is a question of how many spheres she has active and where they sit.
Force of Will lets her pick up a sphere (or even an enemy minion) and hurl it for damage and a slow, extending her reach and adding utility to her poke pattern. Scatter the Weak is the playmaking tool: it knocks spheres and enemies back, and any opponent struck by a flying sphere is stunned. Lining up a Q-E stun from long range is the defining skill test of the champion. Her passive, Transcendent, gathers Splinters of Wrath from levels and damage dealt, upgrading each ability — an extra sphere charge, bonus true damage on Force of Will, a wider Scatter.
The one-shot threat
Unleashed Power is one of the cleanest execute ultimates in the game: Syndra bombards a single champion with every Dark Sphere she has stockpiled, meaning her burst scales directly with sphere management. Set up spheres before a fight, and squishy targets simply cannot stand near her.
She rewards players who enjoy point-and-click deletion earned through positioning and preparation. The trade-off is fragility — with a defense rating of 3 and no mobility, Syndra relies entirely on her stun and spacing to survive, and her difficulty rating of 8 reflects how punishing missed Scatter angles can be.
