About Kassadin

Patience defines the Kassadin experience. He is one of the game’s purest scaling mid laners: a melee anti-mage who suffers through a weak early game, then takes over once Riftwalk comes online. Every choice in his kit points at surviving lanes against ranged casters — Void Stone reduces the magic damage he takes and lets him ignore unit collision, while Null Sphere both interrupts channels and wraps him in a shield that specifically absorbs magic damage. Against enemy mages, his laning phase is far more forgiving than his 150 attack range suggests.

His trading pattern is built around short, sharp windows. Nether Blade empowers his basic attacks with magic damage and refunds mana on its active strike, Force Pulse charges from nearby spellcasts and releases a damaging, slowing cone, and Null Sphere pokes from range. Individually these are modest; chained together after a Riftwalk engage, they delete squishy targets.

Riftwalk and the late game

Riftwalk is a short-range teleport that damages enemies at the destination, and repeated casts within a window cost escalating mana while dealing escalating damage. Late game, this makes Kassadin nearly uncatchable and impossible to peel — he blinks into the backline, unloads, and blinks out on a short cooldown, funded by Nether Blade’s mana restore.

He rewards players who can weather early deficits, manage mana as a genuine resource, and identify the exact moment a fight becomes winnable. His weakness is symmetrical: fall too far behind before the spike, and the takeover never arrives.
