About Swain

Swain occupies an unusual niche among mages: a 525-range battlemage who wants fights to last longer, not shorter. Played in mid lane and as a support, he trades the burst patterns of typical control mages for sustained drain-tank pressure: overwhelming magic power backed by unusually high durability, at the cost of almost no basic-attack threat.

His identity is built around his passive, Ravenous Flock. Swain’s ravens collect Soul Fragments from the fights he takes, healing him in the moment and permanently increasing his maximum health. The more skirmishes Swain takes, the harder he becomes to kill, which is why he gravitates toward extended teamfights rather than poke wars. The rest of his kit feeds this loop — his crowd control roots and drags enemies into range so the flock can harvest, and his ultimate transforms him into a draining engine that soaks damage while pulsing area healing and burning everyone around him.

Team role and feel

In a composition Swain functions as a secondary frontline and a zoning threat: he walks at the enemy backline, forces them to either burst him through his self-healing or give ground, and punishes clumped teams severely. As a support he offers long-range pick potential and roaming kill pressure that most enchanters cannot match.

He is rated among the more demanding mages to pilot, because his power depends on positioning inside the fight rather than at its edge. Players who enjoy calculated aggression — wading into danger with the math of healing versus incoming damage already done — find Swain uniquely satisfying.
