the Terror of the Void
Cho’Gath is the game’s signature scaling tank: a monster who quite literally eats his way to victory. His ultimate, Feast, devours an enemy for a large chunk of true damage, and every kill with it permanently grows his maximum health. Stack after stack, he transforms from an ordinary laner into a towering raid boss that must be dealt with — while his true-damage execute means even other tanks can never safely trade with him at low health.
Despite the tank tag, his damage profile is unusual: attack 3, but defense 7 and magic 7. Rupture erupts the ground at a target area, knocking enemies airborne and slowing them — a long-range setup tool that enables ganks and interrupts channels. Feral Scream silences everything in a cone, one of the most oppressive anti-mage and anti-dive buttons a frontliner can carry. Vorpal Spikes convert his basic attacks into waveclear and slowing spikes, letting him hold lanes and shove indefinitely.
Carnivore refunds health and mana on every unit kill, so Cho’Gath sustains through laning phases where most tanks would be forced back. That resource loop lets him play top or mid as a stable, hard-to-remove presence that scales without needing gold.
His weaknesses follow from the kit: no mobility, a delayed skillshot as his main crowd control, and reliance on stacking time. Kiting compositions can keep him at arm’s length. He suits patient players who enjoy attritional lanes, disruptive teamfight crowd control, and the slow, inevitable satisfaction of becoming physically enormous and functionally unkillable.
