Darkness Rise
Mordekaiser gains a powerful damage aura and Move Speed after landing 3 attacks or spells against champions or monsters.
the Iron Revenant
Mordekaiser is the archetypal juggernaut: a melee fighter-mage with no mana bar, no dashes, and no interest in either. He runs on Shield instead of a resource, and his loop is pure attrition — walk at the enemy, land three hits or spells to trigger Darkness Rise, and let the resulting damage aura and movement speed grind opponents down. Played top and mid, he thrives in extended trades where the aura ticks the whole time.
Obliterate is his bread-and-butter mace slam, dealing area damage that increases against a single target, directly rewarding isolation. Indestructible converts damage he deals and takes into a stored shield he can consume to heal — the harder the fight, the bigger his safety net. Death’s Grasp pulls all enemies in an area toward him: his only way to close distance and the setup for everything else, since a landed pull means a full Obliterate and guaranteed passive stacks.
His ultimate is one of the strangest abilities in the game. Realm of Death drags one victim into a separate dimension, steals a portion of their stats, and lets him keep those stats until the target respawns if he kills them there. It functionally deletes the enemy’s best teamfighter from the map and forces a duel Mordekaiser is built to win — his core teamfight contribution.
The weaknesses follow from the design: no mobility means ranged champions can kite him, and he rarely reaches backlines without Death’s Grasp connecting. Mordekaiser suits players who prefer inevitability over flash and enjoy winning fights the enemy could not afford to take.
