Organic Deconstruction
Vel'Koz's abilities apply Organic Deconstruction to enemies on hit. If 3 stacks are accumulated, the enemy will take a burst of true damage.
the Eye of the Void
Vel’Koz is an artillery mage played in both mid lane and support, built around layering skillshots from a safe distance. His defining mechanic is Organic Deconstruction: every ability hit applies a stack, and the third stack detonates for a burst of true damage. This makes his damage pattern about sequencing — the champion rewards players who can chain three separate hits onto the same target rather than fishing for one big spell.
His combo toolkit is unusually geometric. Plasma Fission fires a bolt that splits in two at an angle, either on reactivation or on hitting an enemy, letting skilled players tag targets hiding behind minions while applying a slow. Void Rift deals two bursts of damage in a line — one instantly, one after a delay — which conveniently counts as two Deconstruction stacks by itself. Tectonic Disruption is his only crowd control, a delayed explosion that knocks enemies up and nudges close threats away, serving as both setup and self-peel. Life Form Disintegration Ray is the payoff: a channelled beam steered with the cursor for 2.5 seconds that, against Researched champions, converts its damage to true damage, ignoring all resistances.
In a team, Vel’Koz brings percent-proof damage that tanks cannot itemize against, strong waveclear, and oppressive poke in sieges. His weaknesses are stark: zero mobility, a channelled ultimate that punishes bad positioning, and total reliance on landing skillshots. He suits players who think in angles and timing — the geometry enthusiasts who find satisfaction in a perfectly split Plasma Fission triple-stack.

Q
Vel'Koz shoots a bolt of plasma that splits in two on reactivation or upon hitting an enemy. The bolt slows and damages on hit.
W
Vel'Koz opens a rift to the void that deals an initial burst of damage, then explodes for a second burst of damage after a delay.
E
Vel'Koz causes an area to explode, knocking up enemies, and knocking close enemies slightly away.
R
Vel'Koz unleashes a channelled beam that follows the cursor for 2.5 seconds that deals magic damage. Organic Deconstruction Researches enemy champions causing them to take true damage instead.
