Few champions define the phrase “frontline bodyguard” like Braum. This melee tank support is built to stand between his carries and everything the enemy throws at them — sometimes literally, since Unbreakable raises his shield to intercept all enemy projectiles, negating the first hit entirely and heavily reducing the rest. Against poke compositions and skillshot-reliant carries, a well-angled shield can erase an entire volley.
His crowd control revolves around Concussive Blows. Braum’s basic attacks start the stack, and once the first is applied his allies’ attacks contribute too; at four stacks the target is stunned and takes magic damage. This makes Braum exceptional with aggressive, fast-attacking lane partners — he starts the combo, the carry finishes it. Winter’s Bite gives him a ranged slow that also applies a stack, letting him begin engages from outside melee range.
Team utility over damage
Stand Behind Me lets Braum leap to an allied champion or minion, granting both of them armor and magic resist on arrival — simultaneously a peel tool, an engage follow-up, and an escape. Glacial Fissure knocks up everything in a line and leaves a slowing trail that cuts off flanks or retreats.
With defense rated 9 and modest damage numbers, Braum wins through utility, not kills. He fits Bot lane support first, with occasional top-lane appearances. Players who enjoy reactive, protective play — blocking the killing blow, layering stuns with teammates, and reshaping fights with terrain-like ultimates — will find him one of the most satisfying pure supports in the game.
