About PSG TALON ACADEMY
PSG TALON ACADEMY served as the developmental arm of PSG Talon, one of the most recognisable organisations to emerge from the Pacific side of professional League of Legends. Based around Hong Kong and competing under the PCS banner — the Pacific Championship Series that covers Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and surrounding territories — the academy squad was designed to nurture prospects and reinforce the senior team’s talent pipeline. It has since been disbanded.
An academy with a purpose
Academy teams occupy a distinct niche in the competitive structure: rather than chasing the region’s premier trophies directly, they exist to blood younger players, test rotations, and provide a lower-pressure stage on which raw talent can mature. PSG TALON ACADEMY fitted squarely into this model, carrying the branding and expectations of a parent club that had itself become a fixture at international events representing the Pacific region.
The final roster
In its concluding line-up the academy ran with Dotmm, Orca, Weizhe, Dinai and Adiogs. That group spanned the standard five roles and embodied the developmental brief of the project, offering emerging players competitive minutes against comparable academy and amateur opposition. For a feeder team, the measure of success is often not the trophy cabinet but how many of its members graduate to meaningful main-roster or professional opportunities.
PCS context and outlook
The PCS is one of Riot’s minor international regions, punching above its weight through PSG Talon and a handful of other clubs that have made memorable runs at global tournaments. Within that ecosystem, academy sides play a quiet but important part in sustaining regional depth. With PSG TALON ACADEMY now closed, its role in the developmental chain has ended, yet the concept it represented — investing in youth to safeguard a region’s future — remains central to how ambitious Pacific organisations think about long-term competitiveness.
