About BOOM Esports
BOOM Esports competed in League of Legends as an Indonesian-rooted organisation participating in the PCS, the Pacific Championship Series that unites teams from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Though now disbanded in this title, BOOM Esports carried the banner of a well-known Southeast Asian esports brand into one of the region’s premier League of Legends competitions, representing Indonesia among a field dominated by traditional Pacific powers.
An Indonesian Presence in the PCS
The PCS emerged as a consolidated competitive region combining several Pacific-area scenes into a single league, giving Southeast Asian nations a shared stage alongside the established Taiwanese and Hong Kong contingents. For an Indonesian organisation, entry into the PCS meant testing itself against some of the most experienced sides in Asian League of Legends outside the game’s largest markets. BOOM Esports’s involvement reflected the growing ambition of Southeast Asian brands to compete at that regional level.
The Roster
BOOM Esports’s line-up in the game featured Holo, Rockky and Alex, the named core around which the team’s PCS campaign was assembled. Competing in a league of that calibre demanded coordination against opponents with deep competitive pedigrees, and the roster represented the organisation’s push to establish a foothold in Pacific competition during its active stretch.
The PCS is characterised by a strong upper tier and fierce battles for the qualifying places that lead to international events, making it a demanding environment for any newer entrant. Southeast Asian representation within the league has fluctuated, and not every organisation has maintained a lasting presence there.
BOOM Esports’s League of Legends venture is now disbanded, closing its chapter in the PCS. The team is remembered as part of the Indonesian and wider Southeast Asian effort to make an impact within the Pacific region, a reminder of how the game’s competitive map continues to draw in organisations from beyond its traditional strongholds.
