About Beyond Gaming

Beyond Gaming was a professional League of Legends organisation based in Taiwan that competed in the Pacific Championship Series (PCS), the regional league covering Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Though the team is now disbanded, it was for a time an established name within one of Asia’s most competitive circuits outside the sport’s two superpowers.

The PCS and Taiwanese Esports

The Pacific Championship Series was created to unify several Southeast and East Asian markets under a single competitive banner, and Taiwan has traditionally been one of its strongest pillars. The Taiwanese scene carries a rich heritage in League of Legends, having produced international champions and a passionate fan base, and PCS teams like Beyond Gaming inherited that legacy as they battled for domestic supremacy and international qualification.

A Taiwanese Contender

Competing in the PCS meant facing a demanding field of regional rivals, all vying for the limited slots that lead to international events such as the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship. For a Taiwanese organisation, representing the region on those stages carried particular prestige given the country’s storied competitive history.

The organisation has since been disbanded, closing its run in the PCS. Its history reflects the volatility that smaller and mid-sized regions can experience, where roster changes, sponsorship shifts and league restructuring frequently reshape the competitive map from season to season.

Even in retrospect, Beyond Gaming stands as part of the fabric of Taiwanese and PCS League of Legends. The team’s participation helped sustain the competitive ecosystem of a region that continues to punch above its weight internationally, and its legacy lingers among the many organisations that have carried the Taiwanese flag on Asia’s professional stage.
