Two of Fizz’s tools break the ranged plan outright. Playful / Trickster lifts him into the air untargetable, which erases a charged Shock Blast even when it was aimed correctly, and Nimble Fighter subtracts a flat amount from every incoming source, so repeated small hits lose value faster than large ones. Chum the Waters attaches to whoever touches it and drags a shark in afterwards, giving him a committed engage that does not depend on landing a skillshot first.

The counterplay is stance discipline. Hextech Capacitor grants movement speed on every weapon swap, an Acceleration Gate extends it, and Thundering Blow knocks Fizz away regardless of where he stands.
