Garden of Thorns
Seeds spawn around Zyra periodically, becoming faster with level. Zyra can cast Deadly Spines or Grasping Roots near seeds to grow plants, who fight for Zyra.
Rise of the Thorns
Zyra turns patches of ground into hostile territory. Flexing between support and mid lane, this plant-summoning mage builds her entire game around Garden of Thorns, a passive that periodically spawns seeds near her. The magic happens when she casts near them: Deadly Spines converts seeds into Thorn Spitters, long-range turrets that shell enemies from afar, while Grasping Roots grows Vine Lashers, short-range plants that slow anyone who lingers. Managing this garden is the heart of her playstyle and a big part of her 7/10 difficulty rating.
Rampant Growth gives her direct control over the ecosystem, letting her plant seeds on demand and store several charges, with kills refunding cooldown. A prepared Zyra can drop two seeds into a brush, land Grasping Roots to snare an approaching target, and instantly have a small army firing on the rooted victim — a trap pattern that makes facechecking her side of the map genuinely dangerous and defines her lane bullying in the support role.
Stranglethorns is her teamfight statement: a huge thicket that damages enemies as it expands and knocks them airborne as it contracts, while enraging any plants inside. Layered over roots, seeds and spines, it creates a delayed, area-wide crowd-control zone that punishes teams who commit into her garden.
Her fragility is the obvious cost — with a 3/10 defense rating and no mobility, anyone who reaches her usually kills her. Zyra suits players who enjoy zone control, ambush setups and macro-level area denial: less a duelist, more a gardener whose flowers bite.

Q
Thick vines spread through the ground and explode into spines, dealing magic damage to enemies within the area. If cast near a seed, Deadly Spines grows a Thorn Spitter plant, which fires at enemies from afar.
W
Zyra plants a seed, lasting up to 60 seconds. Deadly Spines and Grasping Roots cast near seeds will turn them into plants who fight for Zyra. Zyra can store multiple seeds at once, and killing enemies reduces Rampant Growth's recharge time.
E
Zyra sends forth vines through the ground to ensnare her target, dealing damage and rooting enemies they come across. If cast near a seed, Grasping Roots grows a Vine Lasher, whose short range attacks reduce enemy Move Speed.
R
Zyra summons a twisted thicket at her target location, dealing damage to enemies as it expands and knocking them airborne as it contracts. Plants within the thicket are enraged.
