Team WE sweep LGD after Monki and Karis control the series

Team WE defeated LGD Gaming 2-0 during the opening week of LPL Split 3. Monki drove the first win with Qiyana. Karis then decided the second game on Sylas.
Monki’s Qiyana leads the WE lineup in game one
Team WE began the series with a direct plan around Monki’s Qiyana. The jungler found early access to lanes and helped his teammates move first.
LGD struggled to protect its entrances after losing control of the river. Monki was not killed once and took part in most Team WE kills.
His pressure also gave Karis more freedom to move away from the middle lane. Karis used Ryze and joined fights before LGD could gather all five players.
Cube supported those moves with Rumble’s long-range damage during grouped fights. Team WE steadily turned those advantages into towers, dragons and Baron control.
LGD found three kills but lost access to its outer towers and jungle. LGD lost safe access to the river as Team WE placed deeper vision.
ABOUT lost one early duel on Ezreal and then recovered during later fights. Erha started several fights with Nautilus and finished with eleven assists.
The support connected the front line with Monki’s attacks from the side. Team WE ended the first game after twenty-eight minutes with a clear gold lead. The final kill score was twelve to three, matching Team WE’s control of the game.
LGD changes its champion selection for game two
LGD changed several champion choices before the second game began. Tangyuan moved onto Gnar in the middle lane against Karis and Sylas.
The unusual lane created different early fights but did not slow Team WE. Heng used Naafiri and became LGD’s most active player during the game.
He collected four kills while searching for access to Team WE’s back line. Burdol played Aurora, while Shaoye used Jhin in the bottom lane.

Team WE answered with Nocturne for Monki and Varus for ABOUT. Nocturne’s ultimate reduced LGD’s vision during fights in several areas.
Poppy gave Erha several ways to separate an attacker from the main fight. The combination helped Team WE choose which LGD player could be reached first.
LGD won several fights and produced more resistance than in the opener. Those successful moments were followed by costly deaths near dragons and Baron.
Team WE kept enough players alive to continue pushing after each victory. The second game became more open and produced thirty-eight combined kills.
Karis turns stolen abilities into the decisive advantage
Karis became the central figure during the longer second game. Sylas allowed him to take useful opposing abilities before major fights.
He finished with eleven kills and added ten assists for Team WE. His movement forced LGD to watch several angles during every grouped contest.
| Series | Team WE 2-0 LGD Gaming |
|---|---|
| First game | Team WE won in 28 minutes |
| Second game | Team WE won in 33 minutes |
| Game awards | Monki and Karis |
Monki supported that pressure and ended the game with nine kills. The two players supplied most of Team WE’s damage during the final fights.
ABOUT stayed behind the front line and supplied damage through Varus. Erha used Poppy to interrupt LGD players trying to reach that position.
Cube’s Vayne had a quieter game but remained available for the later fights. Team WE did not depend on one lane during every phase of the game.
Karis created the largest individual lead, while the other roles protected it. LGD answered through Heng, but his attacks rarely removed both main damage threats.
Tangyuan was often caught before Gnar could affect the full enemy lineup. That difference helped Team WE win repeated fights during the final stage.

The WE lineup wins a more active second game
The second game lasted thirty-three minutes and included several changes of pace. LGD collected more kills and remained involved after losing early ground.
Team WE still held the stronger position around towers, dragons and Baron. Its players arrived together and protected the space behind their damage dealers.
A late sequence left LGD without enough defenders near its base. Team WE used the surviving minion wave and moved directly toward the nexus.
LGD could not rebuild its formation before the final structures fell. The winners completed the game with twenty-seven kills against eleven.
Karis received the second game’s individual award after his Sylas performance. Monki received the same recognition for the opening game on Qiyana.
Their separate awards reflected two different ways of winning. The first game came through early jungle control and steady pressure. The second required more damage during longer and less predictable fights.
Monki and Karis lead separate wins
Team WE opened the new split with a straight two-game victory. Monki controlled the first game without giving LGD a return kill.
Karis then became the main threat during the second game. Erha supported both performances with control and disruption.
ABOUT supplied reliable damage from behind the front line. LGD showed more activity after changing several champion choices.
Heng started promising fights but lacked support during the finish. LGD stayed closer in the second game and contested more dragons.
Team WE still arrived together for the decisive late fights. The final push began after LGD lost several defenders near its base.
Monki and Karis gave the sweep two clearly different leaders. That variety kept Team WE from relying on one repeated plan.
