The Story of Yone
Yone was an esteemed Ionian swordsman and Yasuo’s half-brother, slain by his own kin and then dragged back across the veil of death by a demon he refused to become. Now wearing a spirit mask he cannot remove, he hunts the malevolent beings that slip between worlds, walking a line between the living and the dead.
Ties to Ionia. A land of spiritual balance and natural magic, scarred by war and still searching for harmony. Yone is counted among the champions connected to Ionia — explore the wider region on its Ionia lore page.
Role in Runeterra. In the fiction, Yone is a relentless close-quarters warrior and a lethal killer who strikes from the shadows, usually seen in the top and mid role in play. Their in-game kit echoes this identity, but the lore frames them first as a figure of the world rather than a set of numbers.
Powers and presence. On the battlefields of Runeterra, Yone thrives in the thick of battle, trading blows up close and outlasting foes through sheer resolve, and lives and kills in the shadows, striking with speed and precision before an enemy even registers the threat. It is this identity — far more than any statistic — that defines how Yone is remembered across the world, and how allies and enemies alike come to fear or follow them.
Connections. Yone’s story crosses paths with other champions — Yasuo (Brothers). These bonds are drawn from official Runeterra lore, not invented for this page.
Others of Ionia. Yone shares the story of Ionia with champions such as Ahri, Akali, Hwei, Irelia. Reading their tales side by side reveals how a single region shapes very different heroes and villains.
