His damage arrives in stacks rather than in a burst, and collecting three Mark of the Storm applications against a champion who closes with Jousting and immediately dashes back through him is slower than it sounds. Kennen’s 580 health at level one and 2,246 by level 18 are also modest for a champion whose ultimate asks him to stand in the middle of the fight.

• Base attack damage of 48 is low, and the on-hit rhythm of Electrical Surge needs uninterrupted attacks that a 345 move speed opponent keeps breaking.
• Energy rather than mana removes any sustain problem, but also means Lightning Rush spent as an escape leaves nothing held back.
• Kled’s 35 armor and 123.4 by level 18 blunt the physical half of a mixed profile; his 28 magic resistance is the half that hurts.
• Slicing Maelstrom is a proximity ultimate, and Chaaaaaaaarge!!! decides whether that proximity happens on Kled’s terms.

Skaarl matters more here than in most trades. With 410 base health of his own, Kled fights the early exchanges on borrowed durability, and losing the mount to a full storm rotation turns a favourable matchup into a farming one.
