About Lyon Academy

Lyon Academy is the developmental team of the Mexican organisation Lyon Gaming, competing in the Liga Regional Norte (LRN) within the Latin America North competitive structure. As an academy outfit, its core mission is to cultivate emerging talent and prepare players for the demands of higher-level professional League of Legends.

A Development Pipeline

Academy teams occupy a vital role in modern esports, serving as the bridge between amateur play and the main stage. Representing Mexico, Lyon Academy operates within the LRN to give up-and-coming players competitive experience, allowing the parent organisation to scout, refine and promote prospects from within its own system.

The Roster

Lyon Academy currently fields Winder, Kase, Sweeho, NANINI, Starhide, iDeka, Zhayend and Razel. With a broad roster at its disposal, the team can develop multiple players across each position, fostering internal competition that pushes individuals to improve. This kind of depth is characteristic of academy setups designed to maximise long-term growth.

Latin American Context

The Latin America North region has a devoted League of Legends following, and its regional leagues like the LRN feed into the wider Latin American competitive pyramid. For academy teams, strong results here can accelerate a player’s rise toward the top domestic and international competitions.

As an active academy, Lyon Academy’s success is measured not only in wins but in the players it graduates to bigger opportunities. Its ongoing work strengthens the Lyon Gaming brand and enriches the broader Latin American scene, ensuring a steady flow of fresh talent into one of the region’s established competitive organisations.
