About Havan Liberty
Havan Liberty was a Brazilian esports organisation that fielded a professional League of Legends roster in the CBLOL, the top-flight national league of Brazil. Representing one of Latin America’s most passionate gaming markets, the team competed in a scene renowned for its fervent supporters and boisterous live crowds. Havan Liberty has since disbanded, and its story is now recounted as part of the history of Brazilian competitive play.
Brazil’s Flagship League
The Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends, universally known as the CBLOL, is among the oldest and most established regional competitions outside the major territories. Brazilian fans are famous throughout the esports world for the atmosphere they bring to arenas, turning domestic finals into spectacles that rival far larger leagues in energy and colour. Organisations competing in the CBLOL therefore operate under an intense spotlight, with a devoted audience following every roster change and match result.
A Corporate-Backed Venture
Havan Liberty carried the branding of a well-known Brazilian retail enterprise, reflecting a broader trend in which established companies invested in esports as a way to connect with younger audiences. Corporate backing of this kind was pivotal in professionalising the CBLOL, providing the infrastructure, salaries and facilities that allowed players to dedicate themselves fully to competition. The partnership underscored how seriously the Brazilian market had begun to take its digital sporting ambitions.
Within the league, teams battled not only for the domestic title but also for the honour of representing Brazil abroad, as CBLOL champions historically earned berths at international events. Competing in this environment meant contending with entrenched rivals and a knowledgeable fanbase that held every organisation to a high standard.
Although Havan Liberty ultimately wound down its League of Legends operations and no longer exists as an active competitor, its participation contributed to the vibrant tapestry of Brazilian esports. The CBLOL has continued to grow and reinvent itself, and former members of its roster of organisations, this one included, remain part of the collective memory of a league that helped put Latin American League of Legends firmly on the global map.
