About Granit Gaming

Granit Gaming was a Swedish esports organisation that competed in the League of Legends scene of the EMEA region, taking part in the NLC. The NLC, or Northern League of Legends Championship, serves the Nordic countries alongside the United Kingdom and Ireland, operating as one of the regional leagues that sit beneath the top-tier LEC in Europe’s competitive structure. Organisations rooted in Sweden and its neighbours have long been part of this ecosystem.

A Team of the Nordic Circuit

As a disbanded team, Granit Gaming is now remembered as a former participant in the regional European scene rather than an active competitor. Teams operating at this level typically function as part of the second tier of European play, where the emphasis falls on domestic competition and the development of regional talent rather than international qualification.

The NLC and Regional Play

The NLC is one of several national and regional leagues that make up the ERL (European Regional League) framework. These leagues form the foundation of the European pyramid, feeding players and staff upward toward the elite level. For a Swedish outfit, the NLC represented the natural competitive home, pitting it against other Nordic, British and Irish organisations across regular splits.

Squads such as Granit Gaming contributed to the depth and diversity of the European regional scene during their time in operation. The regional leagues remain vital because they preserve local competition and give aspiring players a stage on which to prove themselves.

Although Granit Gaming has since ceased operations, its participation forms part of the broader history of the NLC and the Nordic League of Legends community. The regional tier continues to evolve, and the organisations that once competed within it are woven into the story of how European talent has been nurtured over the years.
