About Dragon Gate Team

Dragon Gate Team was a competitive League of Legends organisation based in Hong Kong that operated within the LMS (League of Legends Master Series) competitive sphere, the circuit that historically united teams from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Though the squad never reached the elite tier of its region, it formed part of the broad developmental fabric that fed talent into one of Asia’s most storied competitive ecosystems before the LMS was folded into the wider Pacific structure.

Regional Background

The LMS emerged from the earlier Garena Premier League and quickly established itself as a genuine international force, producing world finalists and internationally recognised stars. Within that landscape, smaller and challenger-level outfits such as Dragon Gate Team played an important supporting role, giving up-and-coming players a stage on which to test themselves against established rosters and to earn the experience necessary to progress further up the ladder.

Roster and Identity

The team fielded a lineup that included PaSa, JGY, Xiaobo, 2188 and YuLun. Rosters at this level of the LMS pyramid tended to be built around ambitious domestic prospects, and the mix of players competing under the Dragon Gate banner reflected that spirit of local development. Each member contributed to a unit whose focus was on growth, consistency and carving out a foothold in a fiercely competitive Taiwanese and Hong Kong scene.

As with many organisations from that era, the team ultimately disbanded rather than continuing into the current cycle. Its dissolution mirrored a period of significant restructuring across the region, during which the LMS itself ceased to exist as a standalone league and its heritage was absorbed into a reorganised Pacific competition.

Legacy

Today Dragon Gate Team is remembered as one of the many grassroots-adjacent sides that populated the LMS during its lifespan. While it did not leave behind a trophy cabinet of major titles, organisations like it were essential to the depth and vitality of a scene that consistently punched above its weight on the world stage. The players who passed through its roster remain part of the broader story of Hong Kong and Taiwanese competitive League of Legends, a legacy that continues to influence the region’s modern representatives.
